Our Breeding Program

At Vanderkley Valley Farm, our registered Highland cattle are at the heart of everything we do. We are passionate about preserving this remarkable heritage breed while raising animals that are healthy, productive, and true to the Highland standard.

Our breeding program focuses on quality over quantity. Every breeding decision is made with the future of the breed in mind, prioritizing sound structure, strong maternal instincts, excellent temperament, longevity, and genetics that contribute to a thriving herd. As registered breeders through the Canadian Highland Cattle Society, we are committed to maintaining accurate pedigrees and continually improving our program.

Our cattle are rotationally grazed across our pastures, allowing them to express their natural behaviours while helping regenerate the land they call home. They are raised with a low-stress approach, handled regularly, and selected for calm dispositions—making them not only enjoyable to work with but well-suited for families, small farms, and fellow breeders.

We occasionally offer registered breeding stock for sale, including bulls, bred females, open heifers, and select calves. Each animal is raised with the same care and intention that defines our farm.
